Campfire 4 - Scaling CDR with Carbon Insurance: A 101
We know that CDR will be essential to tackling the climate crisis but the market will scale only when buyers, investors and project developers have confidence that projects are deliverable and financeable. A robust market depends on reliable systems and insurance is already helping developers turn uncertain future revenues into something more bankable.
In this practical breakout session Matt and Lara from Marsh’s Carbon Credit Insurance team will unpack how insurance can help address the risks that currently hold back investment in CDR: what happens if a project under delivers? How can we help buyers invest more confidently? How can insurance facilitate cheaper capital?
We will explore what carbon insurance is, how it works, who it is for and why it will be a critical enabler of a trusted carbon market. We will also look at the questions buyers and developers should be asking, the challenges insurers face, and what needs to happen next for insurance solutions to support CDR at scale.
This is a 101 session designed to make a complex topic accessible and give you a clearer view of how sharing and allocating risk could help unlock the next phase of CDR.

Campfire 5 - Investing Towards Net-Zero: Who Pays for the Carbon Credits?
Examining the economics of the global transition towards net-zero and the growing demand for carbon credits, the topic will explore who ultimately bears the cost and who should bear the cost—governments, corporations, consumers, or investors. It also considers how carbon markets have to create a balance between climate action, financial returns, and equity to make carbon projects viable in the long run, also in comparison to international market when it comes to the price of Carbon Credits here in India, where entire carbon market stands price sensitive it’s quite harsh when affordability is concerned.

Campfire 6 - From Green Ambition to Bankable Reality: Can insurance and innovative finance unlock the next wave of environmental investment?
The ambition to finance positive environmental outcomes is clear, and investor appetite is growing. Yet turning that ambition into bankable transactions remains challenging.
What if the biggest barrier isn't the availability of capital, but the risks lenders are being asked to assume?
Join Enosis Capital and Texel for an interactive discussion exploring how insurance, credit enhancement and innovative financing structures as proven in the world of debt of nature swaps can help overcome these barriers, mobilise private capital and scale investment in carbon and nature markets.

Campfire 7 - 100 Reasons Not to Buy CDR: Are You One of Them?
Buyers already have plenty of reasons to say no to carbon removal. Don't let your sales process be another one.
Across the market, we keep seeing the same pattern. Companies that raised tens of millions for their technology spend almost nothing on selling it. Plants get built and credits pile up, while the commercial process gets left to chance: slow replies, messy diligence, a champion left alone to win internal sign-off, and an RFP filled in by AI and then read by AI.
The days of easy money and frictionless buying are over. Waiting for the market to come to you is now a strategy, and a costly one.
The damage also spreads. One poor buying experience doesn't just lose a deal. It can put a corporate buyer off carbon removal entirely.
That makes commercial readiness a shared responsibility amongst us all.

Campfire 8 - Building The Industry Through Collaboration
Scaling permanent carbon removal requires shifting from geographically isolated voluntary procurement to large-scale, global demand that is driven in large part by government policy. Systemic industry collaboration is essential to shape this transition at all stages of the process. CDR industry associations address this by gathering together buyers, investors, market makers and developers to coalesce around common views and standards, and then acting as the conduit for the industry to communicate with partners and stakeholders. This interactive campfire session breaks down the fragmented market to map out a structured roadmap for mature, industrial-scale deployment. Including:
Trajectory of CDR, The ecosystem, Maturity requires structure, Value proposition of industry associations, Bottlenecks, Cost, Bandwidth, Lack of familiarity/understanding

Campfire 9 - Turning Carbon Credit Quality into Demand: Building Buyer Confidence
Carbon markets are evolving as quality expectations rise, voluntary and compliance markets
become more interconnected, and international frameworks move toward implementation. The
market has invested significant effort in defining quality through robust methodologies,
enhanced transparency, independent assessments, integrity labels, and other mechanisms. Yet
buyers continue to face multiple competing claims when making purchasing decisions. This
campfire will explore how the market can bridge the gap between recognizing quality and
translating it into buyer confidence and actual demand.
Questions for Discussion
1. If the market broadly agrees that quality matters, are buyers receiving the right signals to
distinguish credible carbon credits?
2. Has the market made quality too complicated to understand and communicate? How
can differences in credit quality be conveyed clearly without overwhelming buyers and
projects?
3. Which integrity frameworks—such as the ICVCM’s Core Carbon Principles and
CORSIA—are helping buyers make informed decisions?
4. Should the market price in differences in sectors and activity types (e.g., removals vs.
reductions or engineered removals vs. natural), or should all verified credits be treated
equally? What can standards do to provide confidence to buyers for all activity types?
5. How is the evolution of compliance market and Article 6 impacting integrity within the
voluntary market? Is there a risk of stifling innovation if markets converge?

Networking Lunch
Take the opportunity to enjoy lunch and build new connections across the carbon removal community.
The Case for Integrated Climate Action
- How should businesses and policymakers balance carbon dioxide emissions reductions, superpollutant mitigation, and carbon removal to maximise climate impact?
- Where are the biggest opportunities to integrate mining, methane, black carbon, and other superpollutant reduction strategies with long-term carbon removal?
- Which companies, sectors, and regions are leading the way in delivering integrated climate action, and what lessons can others learn from their approach?
- Are stronger policy and market signals emerging to support integrated climate solutions, and what will be needed to accelerate adoption?

2026 Summit Themes
Explore the critical pillars shaping the future of carbon removal in Europe.

Honest Lessons from the Frontlines
Moving beyond polished success stories to share the failures, bottlenecks, and hard-earned lessons shaping the future of carbon removal.
The Buyer Intention Gap
Thousands of companies have net-zero commitments. A fraction have purchased a single tonne of carbon removal. This session gets inside the organisation - CFO objections, procurement barriers, board risk appetite, and standards confusion - to ask what it actually takes to move a corporate buyer from intention to purchase order.
Who Sets the Rules? The New Premium Standard for [EU] Certified Removals
From COP31 and the CRCF to SBTi, VCMI, ICVCM, CSRD, and the EU Buyers’ Club, the rules for carbon removal are rapidly evolving. Explore how companies can navigate emerging standards, manage risk, and build credible procurement strategies.
Trust Is the Product: Why MRV Will Make or Break the CDR Market
We move beyond methodology to ask the harder question: who bears the cost of verification, who sets the standard, and what does genuinely scalable MRV infrastructure look like for a market that needs to reach gigatonne scale?
Flight Path to Net Zero: Aviation's Carbon Horizon
With free EU emission allowances ending in 2026, airlines must now pay for all pollution. This financial shift has turned aviation into a primary driver of demand for permanent carbon removal.
Unlocking Commercial Markets in the Global South
As project development accelerates across Africa, Latin America, and Asia, how can buyers, investors, and developers create the long-term demand signals, offtake structures, and financing mechanisms needed to scale deployment and attract capital?
De-risking Carbon Removal Offtakes: Finance, Insurance, and Bankability in Practice
How are lenders, insurers, and investors reassessing offtake agreements in carbon removal, and what new risks, standards, and structures are needed to make long-term carbon removal contracts truly bankable?
